It’s a little-known fact, but a fact all the same, that South African Chenin Blanc wines are among the world’s finest. It’s also a fact that there is a group of visionary South African wine producers who are, not only fast spreading the word, but also continually providing hard evidence by producing Chenin Blanc wines of increasingly remarkable quality.
It all began when the first Chenin Blanc vines were planted back in 1655 by Jan Van Riebeek when he arrived in South Africa, this was the setting stone for South African Chenin Blanc wines to be one of the leading wines in the world. Today the Chenin Blanc Cultivar is mostly planted in Paarl, South Africa
The Chenin Blanc Association is thrilled to partner with The TOPS at SPAR Wine Show nationwide in 2020 to promote and celebrate Chenin Blanc wines in South Africa.
The Chenin Blanc will be showcasing some of the Standard Bank Chenin Blanc Top 10 awardees on the show floor, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about this noble cultivar by participating in a series of tutored tastings conducted in our Wine Theatre.
